Living: This Page deals with the building I lived, worked and played in for a year. It resides in Kobuchi which a subdivision of Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture. About 45 minutes SW of Tokyo. As always..clicking on a picture will bring you a larger version.
Here it is..2-3-33 Kobuchi. Otherwise known as House Natural. I lived on the top floor in the room on the far left. My Classroom was on the middle floor and the coffee house is on the bottom floor. the whole building is owned by my adopted Father, Kimio Suzuki. The Nicest man in Japan.

Here's a panoramic shot of my street.

"Pato no Heya" or "Pat's Room". It took 3 very steep flights of stairs to get up to my room. In the summer time, all the heat in the country would gather right here in this entry way. That block thing on the right is my Washing Machine.

Inside: If you were to walk in the entryway about 10 ft then turn around this is what you would see. My Kitchen, which consisted of a sink and a small butane burner. The whole room is maybe 8-10 ft wide.

If you then turned 180 degrees you would be looking at my Bedroom. The windows in the back of the picture are the sae windows you see on the front of the building in the first picture.

Bathroom: This is the tiniest bathroom in the world. It's not much bigger than an airplane restroom. The cool thing about it was that there was this drain in the middle of the floor, so to clean it I just hosed the whole thing down.

The other cool thing about this pad was the water heater. Before taking a bath or shower I'd flip on the furnace which would then heat the pipe you see and give me unlimited amounts of hot water...ahhhhh.

Here's me none to happy about washing dishes in my tiny sink. Notice the sink it only about mid-thigh high on me.

And me in my Living room wearing a Yukata.

Here's Kimio Suzuki in the Coffe house he runs on the bottom floor. I'd come down here and he'd give me coffee and show me the Newspaper. He'd teach me Japanese and I'd teach him English. He's still a very good friend of mine.

This was the morning ritual of feeding Hana-chan the little tabby cat with no tail. I don't normally like cats but Hana was a great cat. That's Sayoko crouched down there.
