D'oh!!!

No! You're not having a flashback. I dorked up the main splash page and had to reload an older one. Good! I'm glad! Now I have to make a new splash page and people will think I've updated the site or something. ;)

Actually, there is something new!

EzBoard became too much of a problem for us so we took our BBS out of their hands and into our own. I'm proud to redirect PK BBS traffic to

http://www.polykarbonbbs.com

A Big thanks to the mods of the PK BBS. They really took the ball and ran with it and Shousetsu has done an outstanding job of skinning it. Head on over and sign up.

D'oh, This page shouldn't be up yet but now the damage is done. My trigger happy fingers overwrote my old news page...oh, well, call it a sneak peek at the new design.

Since I'm here I might as well point some stuff out. I've updated my Library page with the correct links to the books as well as adding some new ones. In particular, I really like this new book:

I have a lot of photo pose reference but you can never really get good action photos. They are always kind of static and, well, POSED. This book, however, is filled with line art poses and can defy gravity and static camera angles so you get some really useful action poses. AnimeGamers is currently out of stock on this title but more are on the way.

It's been a long time since I've touched this site and after being away for 2 years and coming back to it I've come to realize that I know almost nothing about web development. I can pick some pretty colors and put things together in a pleasing "no frills" kinda way but that basically means I don't know how to do anything more. No flash stuff, no back end server side stuff. Just straight forward HTML with light CSS.

BUT the positive side to that is you dont have to work to hard to navigate it. Sometimes, simple is best. I got rid of a lot of unecessary graphics and used system fonts and CSS wherever possible to speed page loads. (ironically, everyone has broadband now and I can get away with heavier pages...oh well).

So, some big plans for the tutorial sections. I hope to have some of the guys in my studio do guest tutorials so we can branch out from concept art and tackle some production skills, both traditional and digital, as well as covering non art stuff such as game design, development and program managing.

It was quite the marathon for the last 6 months as we decided to add "LIVE" support to the game and do some major overhauling to the single player missions but the game is out the door and getting very good reviews. The Prima guide features some character art and logo work I did for the game. Check it out if you get the chance.
